超過一萬張圖像免費開放下載！非營利線上期刊「The Public Domain Review」推出了一個全新的數位圖像公共平台「Public Domain Image Archive」（簡稱 PDIA），自 2025 年 1 月 8 日正式亮相。這個平台收藏了各種數位化的視覺藝術作品，從古老建築到精美裝飾，呈現了橫跨數世紀藝術與文化的縮影，彷彿將歷史轉化為一本美妙的開放式圖畫書，如果你是博物館學、歷史學、藝術迷愛好者等，這絕對會是一個挖掘寶藏與靈感的好地方。

比較特別的是，這是一個不斷更新的資料庫，每週都會新增全新的圖像作品。目前平台已有超過 10,046 幅已過版權保護期的作品，供所有人免費瀏覽、下載和再利用。本篇將介紹此平台的使用方式與亮點。

致力於打造線上「珍奇屋」

成立於 2011 年，The Public Domain Review是一個線上期刊暨非營利專案，致力於探索藝術、文學與思想史中那些引人入勝且耐人尋味的作品——「我們聚焦於令人驚豔、奇特且美麗的事物，希望為數位時代提供一個不斷成長的奇珍異品櫃，打造一個線上的『珍奇屋』（Wunderkammer）。」

步驟 1：點選自己喜歡的主題

要在海量的畫作、插圖和照片中篩選自己有興趣的作品，可能會令人感到繁瑣，但 PDIA 的獨特之處就在於它迷人的使用體驗。訪客可以先瀏覽 5 個目錄主題篩選，分別是藝術家（artist）、世紀（century）、風格（style）、主題（theme）、標籤（Tag）。

如果沒有特定的主題想搜尋，也可以點選「無限視角」（Infinite View），進入一個彷彿無窮無盡的藝術世界，無止境地滑動你的滾輪以欣賞作品，毫無設限地挖掘有興趣的點子和作品。

步驟 2：點選「Download」按鈕

點選自己有興趣的圖像後，就會進入如下圖頁面，網站會顯示這個作品的創作者、創作年份，以及作品來源、檔案尺寸等資訊，確認都沒問題後，再點一下「Download Image」即可直接下載圖片。

PDIA 不僅僅收藏許多美麗的視覺作品，圖像的底下還附有《The Public Domain Review》的深入文章報導，為每件作品提供了豐富的歷史背景，更提供許多類似的圖像供讀者參考，讓探索和分享歷史資料變得比以往更加輕鬆。
